TSS is seeking a part-time Temporary Development Coordinator for a small, mission-driven Jewish nonprofit focused on educational and community programming. This assignment will start in early September and run through the end of October, with the possibility of extending.
Details:
Part-time: 20–24 hours/week, preferably across 3 days
Temporary: early September through the end of October, with potential to extend
Hybrid in NYC, with at least one full day onsite per week
Ideally available onsite Tuesday or Wednesday; additional onsite time may be needed leading up to the October Giving Day
$27–$30/hour
Working closely with the Director of Development, this person will provide hands-on coordination and administrative support during a busy fall fundraising and events period. The primary focus will be supporting an annual Giving Day, including volunteer coordination and donor outreach logistics, as well as preparing for an upcoming major donor event. This role does not include any fundraising or asking for donations.
Responsibilities include:
Coordinate with in-person and virtual volunteers for an annual Giving Day
Prepare, review, and organize donor outreach lists and materials
Track donor outreach, responses, and follow-up
Coordinate with the communications team on campaign materials and timing
Assist with RSVP tracking and personalized follow-up for a major donor event
Coordinate event details, materials, and other behind-the-scenes logistics
Prepare donor thank-you communications and provide general development support
Keep multiple projects, deadlines, and details organized and moving forward
We’re looking for someone with:
2–3+ years of nonprofit development, donor relations, fundraising administration, events, or related experience
Experience coordinating volunteers and/or donor-facing projects
Excellent organization and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A warm, responsive customer-service approach when working with donors and volunteers
The ability to work proactively and independently in a small, collaborative environment
Comfort with shifting priorities and jumping in where needed
Experience with a Jewish nonprofit or familiarity with the Jewish nonprofit community is a plus
