We are looking for a PART TIME, Temporary Events Coordinator for a 2 months+ temporary position. The role is approximately 20 hours/week, and completely onsite at their downtown Manhattan office. (No remote work.)
Our client is a small office that does fundraising for a medical facility located in Israel. They are currently seeking part time assistance for their development team ahead of a major event. This role needs someone incredibly organized and detail-oriented, excellent on phones speaking to donors and making asks, and who can jump in to help (they are a small office and everyone pitches in).
All candidates must have 1-3 years of previous development experience, preferably in a fundraising/events department of a non-profit organization.
Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week, some weeks may be more and some may be less. Work must be done during a typical 9am-5pm day in their office. Otherwise, they can be flexible about the schedule.
Length: at least 2 months, but it could extend. This is a temporary role. (This is not a temp-to-perm role.) They hope to have someone start by mid-September and this will go through mid-November (exact timing is tbc).
Responsibilities:
-Provide exceptional events and administrative support to this small office, especially for tasks in anticipation of their annual gala.
-Make solicitation calls to follow-up on paper and email gala invites. Need someone experienced, comfortable, and with a great phone manner.
-Meticulous tracking in Excel. Track donations, RSVPs, and other financial and logistical information pertaining to the gala. Need to be comfortable with numbers and financial information.
-Answer phones. Calls come in from donors or gala attendees looking for information or vendors.
-Work with vendors to pass along information, files, logistics related to the gala.
-Maintain files – paper as well as electronic.
-Other admin supports tasks related to gala and the office.
Education, Experience and Skills:
-B.A. required.
-1-3 years of events experience, preferably in a non-profit development department.
-Excellent phone manner.
-Sense of urgency and responsibility, meets deadlines, takes initiative, ability to prioritize work and multi-task under pressure. And also someone who remains calm and chill.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially writing letters and emails.
Software: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Raiser’s Edge (would be helpful), light internet research skills, and ability to learn new applications quickly.
Compensation: $27-$30/hr.
